A Kesuba / Ketuba is basically divided into three parts. All three parts deal with the obligation the husband has for his wife. This document only spells out those obligations that are on going all the time.

A loose translation of a Kesuba/Ketuba is as follows:

On ______ ( Sunday, Monday, etc.) day of the week, the (Hebrew day) of the Hebrew month, in the year ________ from the creation of the world as we are counting here in ( the name of the city), The groom ________ son of _________ said to the bride ________ daughter of _______ be my wife according to the laws of Moses and Israel, and I will work to support you, and I will honor you, and I will feed you, and I will dress you according to the laws of Jewish men who support, honor, feed and clothe their wives truthfully, (THE FOLLOWING IS THE FIRST PART) and I am setting aside for you the sum of ( depending on the legal status of the bride, either the sum of two hundred zuzim or one hundred zuzim) that is to be set aside for the bride according to Torah law, (or in some cases according to Rabbinical law, depending on the legal status of the bride), and your food, clothing and necessities, and I will live with you as husband and wife according to Jewish law. And ________ the bride has consented and has became his wife.
( THE FOLLOWING IS THE SECOND PART) And the dowry that she has brought to him from her household, whether in jewelry, clothing, household items, or bedding items, _______________ the groom, has accepted responsibility with the sum of one hundred pieces of silver( or fifty pieces of silver, depending on the brides legal status).
(THE FOLLOWING IS THE THIRD PART) And ________________ the groom added from his own money, another sum of one hundred pieces of silver ( or fifty pieces of silver, depending on the legal status of the bride), altogether the sum is two hundred pieces of silver.( or altogether one hundred pieces of silver, depending on the legal status of the bride).
And ____________ the groom states: responsibility for the (1) Kesuba / Ketuba contract, (2) the dowry, and (3) the added sum, I accept upon my self and my heirs after me, from the best of my property or possessions that I own under the heavens, that which I own now, or that I will own in the future, moveable property or immovable property, all of my possessions shall be as a guarantee and as a warranty to pay the Kesuba / Kesuba document, the dowry and the added sum from me and even from the clothes on my back, during my life time or even after my life time, from today and forever.
And the responsibilities of the Kesuba / Ketuba contract, the dowry and the added sum __________ the groom has accepted upon himself with all restrictive measures of marriage contracts, and additions, that are given to Jewish daughters according to rabbinical regulations. This document is to be regarded as a legal binding document and not just a support document or merely a form. And a legally binding act has been effected between _________ the groom son of ______________ and ________________ the bride ______________ daughter of _______________ in regards to everything that has been written explicitly above through a legal instrument with which one can make an acquisition.
